An atmosphere of tension on the second day in the city; Two people killed in firing, Section-144 applied

In Jehanabad, Bihar, there is a tense situation for the second day and Section-144 is applicable in many areas. On Friday too, incidents of violence occurred in several areas of the city. Firing broke out between two groups in Gandhi Nagar, in which two people were reported dead due to bullet injuries. In Jafarganj, two groups fought fiercely with lathi poles in which more than a dozen people were injured. All have been admitted to Sadar Hospital. The condition of many people is critical.

Apart from this, the atmosphere is tense in Pyari Mohalla, Thakurbari, Ambedkar Nagar, Panch Mohalla and Mahalchak. The Rapid Action Force team along with the administration is also camping in the city. The entire city has been converted into a cantonment. Police has appealed people not to pay attention to the rumors. Also, people have been asked to leave the house only when necessary work is done. DM and SP are also going around the city to take stock of the situation. Internet services have been discontinued as a precaution.

Tension prevailed in the city after anti-social elements broke the idol during the immersion of the Goddess statue on Thursday morning. Anti-social elements broke the idol near Kacchi Masjid in Panch Mohalla by brick and stone. Controversy started about this. More than 10 shops were set on fire and more than two dozen people were injured in the fighting.
